Education Results

  • Girls' Education in Ethiopia
    In 2010 EFA FTI provided Ethiopia an additional $98 million to address educational quality. Since joining the FTI Partnership, Ethiopia doubled the rate of increase in gross enrollment rate for girls.
  • 1 Goal
    EFA FTI joined the 1GOAL Campaign during the World Cup in 2010. 13 African heads of state wrote to government leaders in donor countries, appealing for financial support to make Education for All a lasting legacy of the World Cup and asked in particular for support for FTI.
  • EFA FTI Supports School Health and Feeding
    EFA FTI actively supports school health and nutrition interventions in FTI partner countries, including school feeding, deworming, micronutrient supplements, and HIV/AIDS education activities.

  • Chapter 1: Improving Education Results
    Highlighting how EFA FTI's support has helped partner countries lower the number of repeaters, increase the number of children completing a full cycle of primary school and the number of girls enrolling in primary school.
  • Chapter 2: Highlighting FTI Reforms
    Reviewing the changes made to the FTI's Board of Directors composition and operating methods and the newly-established Education for All Fund and Financial Advisory Committee.

  • Annex 1: Catalytic Fund Pledges
    A summary of the Catalytic Fund Pledges and Receipts. Since 2003 through the end of December 2010, donors pledged through signed administration agreements a cumulative total of $1.9 billion to the Catalytic Fund. Overall, new funds mobilized from donors amounted to approximately $400 million equivalent in 2010.
  • Annex 2: EPDF Donor Pledges
    A review of the Education Program Development Fund( EPDF) Donor Pledges. As of the end of December 2010, donor commitment to the EPDF reached $115 million, of which $112.1 million has been allocated. EPDF disbursements for 2010 totaled $19.7 million, compared with $22.7 million in 2009.
  • Annex 3: FTI Board of Directors
    In 2010 the number of developing-country representative seats on the Board of Directors increased from four to six members. At the same time, Board of Directors seats became constituency based, with each member representing a number of countries or organizations that are FTI partners.

  • FTI Partner Country Profiles
    These detailed profiles of all FTI developing country partners include education progress indicators such as primary gross intake and completion rates, total primary enrollment and number of out-of-school children as well as domestic spending, enrollment rate, repetition and dropout rate. The country profiles also show for each country external financing for basic education.
