The Global Partnership for Education in the Global Program Learning Group![]() The Global Partnership for Education has been a member of The Global Programs Learning Group since 2006, which was formed to respond to the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005). Membership includes the Global Environment Facility, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Cities Alliance, the Consultative Group for International Agriculture Research and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, with input from the Health Metrics Network and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. To support the implementation of the Paris and Accra commitments and promote aid effectiveness more broadly, the Global Programs Learning Group has developed a Joint Work Plan (2010/2011) which is supplemental to the work of individual global programs. This joint work plan includes five priority areas and respective actions leading up to the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness 2011. The Global Partnership for Education has taken numerous measures to live up to the aid effectiveness principles such as the development of the new M&E Strategy, improved support for country programs, and increased developing partner country voice in the The Global Partnership for Education Partnership. The Group meets twice a year and with regular teleconferencing as a group. It reports back to the Working Party on Aid Effectiveness regularly on progress in its annual work plan, with an annual presentation to the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) representatives. The network model represented by the Global Programs Learning Group not only allows all of the members engaged to participate and share knowledge, but it also enables interaction and representation on behalf of the Global Programs Learning Group with the OECD as well as a wide variety of other fora. |
