The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat provides support to the Chair and the members of the Board of Directors, Trust Fund committees, working groups and task teams, as well as to the Partnership Meeting and other Global Partnership for Education meetings serving the interests of the Partnership as a whole. The Secretariat is currently hosted by the World Bank in Washington, DC. The Secretariat is organized around five teams.
Accelerating knowledge-sharing among partners, identifying and advocating good practices, and basing policy dialogue on evidence to support low-income countries and countries in crisis or transition situations.
Supporting the Global Partnership for Education partner countries to develop and implement high-quality education sector plans focused on results.
Facilitating effective decision-making by the Global Partnership for Education Board and effective service delivery by the Secretariat teams and management, in particular in the areas of governance and funds management.
Presenting a reformed and improved Global Partnership for Education as an effective global mechanism to coordinate aid efforts for basic education and to leverage new funds and political support in order to achieve quality basic education in developing countries.
