Last week, in New York, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development during the 70th General Assembly.

The Global Partnership participated in the landmark summit through representation by board chair Julia Gillard, CEO Alice Albright, members of the GPE board and partner organizations.

Throughout the week, GPE representatives called on leaders to recognize the central role of education for the success of the new 17 Global Goals and the urgent need to fill the US$39 billion financing gap to ensure all children have access to a quality education.
