The African Union has identified weak education systems as a critical challenge to the development of the continent and has, therefore, made it one of the key pillars of development and integration. The COMEDAF is a technical, advisory and oversight body that considers matters pertaining to the development and improvement of the education sector within the continent, transmitting its outcomes to the AU Summit for final endorsement.
