GPE Pre-Board Constituency Meeting. Rest of the World. May 2015

This meeting brings together GPE focal points and directors of planning from the ministries of education in GPE partner developing countries in the following regions: Asia and the Pacific; Eastern Europe, Middle East and Central Asia; and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The meeting is an opportunity for representatives from these countries to gather and discuss technical and governance issues, as well as strategy development and implementation. It allows GPE constituencies to provide their coordinated response and position on issues and decisions that will be discussed at the upcoming GPE Board of Directors meeting, scheduled to take place in the Republic of Korea on May 22-23, 2015.

The objective of the pre-Board Constituency Meeting is to allow countries to share experiences and address challenges in the development and implementation of credible education sector plans; strengthen technical and organizational capacity to better engage in and drive the decision-making processes of the Board of Directors and technical committees; build and strengthen existing relations among the developing country constituencies and promote South-South collaboration and exchange to strengthen national education systems; and strengthen constituencies communication and coordination.

The 4 day meeting will focus on:

Education Sector Plans (ESPs): A two-day session led by the GPE Secretariat's Country Support Team on education sector plans. 

Strategic plan consultation: Continue ongoing and in-depth dialogue on the direction of the new Strategic Plan. 

Board decisions: Discuss and reach a consensual position on all the decisions and policies which will be discussed at the next GPE Board of Directors meeting which will be held in the Republic of Korea, on May 22-23, 2015. 

Communication and Action Plans: Strategic approach to refining constituency communication and action plans, to help build constituency capacity, knowledge, and learning to be able to better engage and deliver on GPE priorities, as well as transform and strengthen national education systems.
