Alice Albright advocates for increased focus on education in Canberra, Australia

At the Development Policy Centre in Canberra, Australia, CEO of GPE Alice Albright discussed the importance of focusing on education to build strong economies and ensure sustainable development. As she explained to the audience, education is a significant contributor to long-term stability but under the current status quo hundreds of millions of young people could be left behind without the skills required to prosper in the workforce of the future.

She also outlined the key steps GPE has identified to ensure SDG 4 is successfully met. Supporting education needs in developing countries requires $2 billion per year by 2020, however financing is falling short.
