In March 2017, the Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$200,000 for Regional Pacific SIDS to conduct a targeted analysis of the Pacific Education Development Framework (PEDF) and to develop a new Regional Education Framework (REF)

The Education Sector Plan Development Grant will allow the Regional Pacific SIDS to carry out a review of the PEDF including in-country consultations; drafting of the PEDF review document, and lessons learned to take forward for the development of the new REF.

This grant will deepen the governance, planning and financing arrangements around regionalism and regional cooperation in education.

The Asian Development Bank, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, has been nominated by the local education group to be the grant agent on behalf of the Governments of the Regional Pacific SIDS.

Education Sector Plan Development Grants from the Global Partnership for Education are intended to help countries perform strategic, consultative and analytical work to develop or revise their sector plan. Of the maximum grant amount of US$500,000, US$250,000 is reserved for education sector analysis, and the remainder for additional studies or to develop the sector plan.
