On his trip to U.S. advocate from Zimbabwe makes a case for investing in education

Ten years ago, Patrick Makokoro started a foundation to promote early childhood education in Zimbabwe. But growing up in Zimbabwe, access to quality education was a struggle, as Makokoro recounts on his journey across the United States to share the story of how education changed his life.

On this trip to various U.S. cities, Makokoro makes the case for why it is crucial for countries like the United States to support access to education in developing countries, especially through continued funding for institutions such as GPE. Investing in education pays great dividends, and his story is proof of its multiplier effect.
