October 19, 2016 - The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$144,434 for Zanzibar to develop a new education program

Description: The program development grant will allow Zanzibar to fund a number of activities that support the development of a new program, with the overall objective of building conducive school learning environments and improving the pre-primary sector.

The program will finance the collaboration between the Swedish Embassy, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, and the Government of Zanzibar. The Swedish Embassy has been nominated by the local education group to manage the grant on behalf of the Government of Zanzibar.
