The Global Partnership for Education says its "partner countries" are making progress in reaching the millions of children around the world who are not going to school.
The GPE released the Results For Learning Report 2014/15 as it announced Bangladesh has become its 60th developing country partner - which makes it eligible for a grant of up to $100million over three years.
Bangladesh is aiming to make its pre-primary and primary school system more efficient and inclusive. Mostafizur Rahman, the country’s Minister of Primary and Mass Education, said: “I hope this new partnership will bring meaningful reform in the primary education sector."
The GPE is made up of the 60 developing country governments, as well as donor governments, civil society/non-governmental organisations, teacher groups and others. Its mission is to galvanise and coordinate a global effort to provide a quality education to children, prioritising the poorest and most vulnerable.
