Kenya is set to release assessment of students' competencies in primary school

Under the supervision of the World Bank and in conjunction with GPE, which provided US$88.4 million in grant, the Education ministry in Kenya is implementing the Kenya Primary Education Project (PRIEDE) to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics to 6 million students in primary and informal schools.

As the project also entails strengthening capacity for evidence-based policy development at the national level, the ministry is set to release a study conducted to assess progress made in increasing students' competencies in the classroom, and thus providing a foundation upon which to build effective new curriculum implementation.
