Pakistan uses mobile fingerprint to identify teachers

With funding from GPE and the World Bank’s Identification for Development initiative, the ministry of education in Pakistan enrolls teachers in rural communities using mobile fingerprint biometrics. Education Department officials travel to remote villages to verify the identity and location of educators in a concerted effort to limit fraud, which deprives roughly 5 million children from receiving an education according to a UNICEF study.
