Save the Date: GPE Partnership Results Meeting November 17, 2013

When: November 17, 2013

Where: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

In November 2011 the Global Partnership for Education held its first-ever pledging conference in Copenhagen, hosted by the Danish Government. The event was highly successful and the current GPE replenishment period to the end of 2014 is well on track to secure close to US$2 billion for the GPE Fund. The GPE replenishment also helped mobilize significant additional resources for education not only from GPE donor partners and international organizations but also from the governments of developing country partners themselves, who have invested heavily in their own education plans.

The next pledging conference is planned for June 2014. Before officially launching the main fundraising campaign in January 2014, GPE will host a Partnership Results Meeting on November 17, 2013, to provide a comprehensive report to donors and interested partners on the results the Global Partnership has achieved to date. This meeting will take place the day before the November Board Meeting, which is scheduled for November 18-19, 2013, in Addis Ababa.

Before the pledging conference, the Partnership Meeting will serve as an opportunity for all partners to take stock of GPE's progress, the increasing demand for GPE support and new developments at global and country levels. A written report will be circulated two weeks prior to the meeting.

Official invitations with additional details will be issued at the end of September.
