Colbert is hosting the Global Citizen Festival in New York City next month and his cause is girls’ education. He wants to raise enough money for the Global Partnership for Education to be able to disburse US$15 billion a year by 2020, with the goal of putting 59 million children in school.

He called on his fans to tweet at Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg encouraging Norway to increase funding for girls’ education using the hashtag #educationfjorall.
