  • What if we could get every child in school?

They called them the Millennium Development Goals, and the critics had a field day. Same old UN, they said. Pie in the sky. Empty promises. Won't happen...But just look at 'what if' for MDG #2.

Monitoring Exercise Introducing Charles Tapp

On February 1, 2011 the EFA FTI Secretariat will launch a partnership-wide monitoring exercise engaging Local Education Groups to collect data about how governments, donors and civil society in FTI-endorsed developing partner countries work together to achieve results based on agreed, long-term education sector plans.

As a follow-up to the discussion on fundraising at the November 2010 FTI Board meeting, Mr. Charles Tapp will work with the FTI Chair and Secretariat Head. As Senior Advisor for Fundraising, he will help to develop strategies for fundraising and will liaise with donors and other partners. Implementation of these strategies over the coming year will lead to a major replenishment event later in the autumn.

The next meeting of the FTI Board of Directors will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, hosted by the Rwandan Ministry of Education. The two-day meeting will take place either in the second or the third week of May, 2011.
