Indicative Allocations for Program Implementation Grants

At its meeting in November 2012, the Global Partnership Board of Directors revised the list of indicative allocations to support the implementation of national Education Sector Plans in eligible countries.

The following countries are eligible:

A Needs and Performance Framework (NPF) determines each country’s share of available resources for a given period. The NPF calculates the allocation each country is eligible to apply for, based on needs and performance around the Global Partnership’s five objectives:

  • Support to fragile states
  • Girls' education, and
  • Early-grade learning (particularly reading and numeracy),
  • Resources for education, and
  • Improved teacher effectiveness

The amounts are indicative only and apply to applications submitted up to March 2014. All allocations for education plan implementation grants are subject to a successful application, approval by the Board of Directors and availability of resources. Indicative allocations are reviewed on an annual basis and may be adjusted. All eligible countries are included on the list below with the following exceptions:

  • Countries in their first year of grant implementation and with grant closing dates in 2013 or 2014
  • Countries with grants under implementation for more than one year, but with very low disbursement rates or whose current funding is not expected to expire before 30 June 2014
  • Countries that received allocations in 2011 or 2012.
