Ms. K. Zehra Arshad is leading Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) as National Coordinator. She is linked to the education sector for more than 18 years. Under her leadership, the coalition undertakes evidence based public policy advocacy on different aspects of education through engagement with policy makers, key officials and experts. It also conducts policy reviews, suggests reforms and pro-people policies for improving the status of education in Pakistan through civil society participation at national, provincial and district level.
Ms. Arshad is also a member of various international forums and thematic groups, representing civil society on various international networks like Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education For All (CCNGO/EFA), Global Campaign for Education (GCE), Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE). She is also on the board of various civil society organizations.
She has conducted various research and is the author of reports and articles related to her area of work including education, women rights etc. She has also been working on development issues related to women, peace, health, and education in various national and international professional organizations, networks and forums for the last 17 years. She is a human rights activist and strong believer of an inclusive and pluralistic approach for development. She is vocal and assertive about rights based approach, active citizenship and social accountability.
