The submission period of the Reading Changed My Life Photo and Video Contest is now closed. We are happy to announce that we have received nearly 1000 submissions from 93 countries! We want to thank all participants for their amazing stories and our 100 co-sponsors for helping us promote this contest and encourage individuals to participate. During the past few weeks, we have been showing you regional maps on our blog, Facebook and Twitter, highlighting from which countries we have received entries. This week, we are featuring a world map where you can see how many entries we have received from each country.

Turkey wins for most entries

As you can see, we have a winner! A total of 159 entries came from Turkey, the most entries of any country, followed by the United States with 90 and Colombia with 82.

Now it’s Your Turn to Vote

With so many creative, funny, and inspiring entries, selecting the winners won’t be an easy task. This is why we count on YOU to help us pick the winning entries! Go to our gallery page on our contest site or via the Global Partnership for Education Facebook app and cast your vote from November 7-21, 2012. Keep in mind that you can vote only once a day for either a photo or video. Your vote will help us pick the 5 best photos and 5 best videos which will win a Kindle Keyboard 3G e-reader. The 10 winners will then compete for our grand prizes: a Nikon Coolpix P510 camera for the winner of the best photo and a Canon VIXIA HF M500 video camera for the winner of the best video.. Your vote will select the winners. Please visit our gallery page and tell us which photo or video you find the most inspiring!
