To mark International Women’s Day on March 8th, we celebrated the power of an educated girl all week, calling attention to the barriers that continue to leave the most disadvantaged of them excluded from education.
63 million girls around the world are still not in school; girls are two times more likely than boys to never go to school.
It has been said before, but we will say it again: investing in girls makes sense.
Educated women tend to be healthier, have better jobs and earn more income, have fewer children, and provide better health care and education to their children. Girls' education can save millions of lives.
The world must commit to breaking down the barriers keeping us from achieving gender equality in education.
