Picture of the week

Learning seems fun for this little boy in a primary school in Laos PDR. Certainly, the patience and dedication of his teacher has a lot to do with that.

Most of us can remember at least one teacher who helped us, influenced us, and maybe even put us on the path we are on today. Teachers have the single biggest impact on children learning. Well trained teachers can better manage different ages and learning needs in their classrooms. Teachers that are well supported by their school administration can perform better. That’s why it is one of GPE’s strategic objectives to focus on teachers.

This week, we are supporting the action week of the Global Campaign for Education “Every child needs a Teacher”. The campaign is raising awareness of the crucial role that teachers play in every country to ensure that children get a quality education.

Join the campaign and get involved making sure that every child has a teacher to learn from.

We hope you’ll get involved in helping children learn and grow, and join our conversation on Facebook and Twitter.
