South-South exchange helped Sudan build a national learning assessment

Lessons from Egypt and Yemen helped Sudan develop a brand new national learning assessment. South-South cooperation and sharing works!

Sudan has recently developed and tested a new national learning assessment to gather data on how much children are learning. The results will help shape and adjust policy interventions to ensure that the work of teachers in the classrooms leads to the intended outcomes.

The new assessment was created based on earlier assessments in Sudan and the lessons from experience from Egypt and Yemen, which Sudanese ministry of education officials discussed during a workshop organized by GPE in Morocco.

This type of South-South sharing is strongly encouraged by the Global Partnership. Its global and regional activities (GRA) program funds research on key education topics in partner countries, with the specific goal to increase the knowledge base on what works in education and to share it among partners.

Tomorrow is the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation.
