Achieving the Global Goal for education by 2030 costs on average $1.18 a day per child in developing countries. Estimates say that developing country governments can cover $1.04 of this amount, leaving a 14 cent funding gap. It might seem like a small amount, but those last 14 cents can make a huge difference.

Imagine the challenges we could begin to address by closing the funding gap:

  • Developing countries could provide 12 years of school for all children, free of charge
  • More teachers could be hired and trained
  • Schools could be equipped and resourced to welcome children with disabilities
  • More schools could be built in remote  areas, meaning more children would go to school

What education challenges would you want to be addressed if your country had more money for education? Leave your thoughts in a comment.

Problem of Government schools is undisciplined teachers & school managements.Teachers are used for non teaching activities like surveys, election duties.Parents perceive learning quality in Govt schools very poor.Parents have no role in evaluation of teachers-school.Government should better leave Primary-Presecondary schooling to private sector.

Agree...to overcome all odds to make our Children specially older children ( age 10-16) Literate, then on to education....only way out of abject poverty. This more so fro Rural Girls.
