Promoting girls’ right to learn in West and Central Africa

In the last few years, there have been large gains in girls’ education. However, in West and Central Africa gender inequality in education remains the highest in the world. According to UIS, there are 28 million girls (of primary and secondary school age) who have no access to education. This report explores the barriers preventing girls to attend school as well as recommendations to ensure that all girls in West and Central Africa access and complete education in a safe and supportive environment.
