Following on from two earlier regional workshops held in Tanzania and Nepal in 2017, GPE and UNGEI, in collaboration with UNICEF WCARO, will co-convene the third regional workshop in West and Central Africa. This workshop will continue the roll-out of the GPE-UNGEI "Guidance for Developing Gender-Responsive Education Sector Plans" for countries in the West and Central Africa region.

The purpose of the workshop is to strengthen the capacity of ministry of education staff and members of the LEG, to effectively integrate gender throughout the education sector planning process, which will contribute to their ability to develop equitable and inclusive sector plans.

The workshop will include country delegations from Togo, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Guinea, Mali, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
