During the first Global Refugee Forum taking place on December 17-18, 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland, efforts to increase and improve funding for refugee education and ways to provide host countries with the financial support to include refugees in their national education systems will be the aim of a panel discussion Alice Albright, GPE’s CEO, will be taking part to.
The first Global Refugee Forum, which will take place on December 17 and 18 in Geneva, Switzerland, is a critical opportunity to build momentum towards achieving the objectives of the historic affirmation of the Global Compact on Refugees.
The session will give specific examples of different approaches that have made the inclusion of refugee, asylum seeking and displaced children and youth in national education systems a reality. It presents good practices and innovative country-led initiatives that illustrate policy implementation at national and local levels.
The Grants and Performance Committee meets on January 28-30, 2020. The location will be determined at a later date.
The 2020 summit will take place April 5-8 at Oxford University, United Kingdom. The summit provides a platform for discussion and sharing of knowledge between the world's most ardent literacy and educational leaders.
USAID will hold the USAID 2020 Global Education Conference as an opportunity to build relationships and networks across sectors and countries and share our collective knowledge, evidence and experience. The theme of the conference is "Education Today, Opportunity Tomorrow".
