Takao has started working since September 2018 in the Country Support Team of the GPE Secretariat as an Education Specialist in charge of nine countries. He is a Secondee from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He served as a team leader of Education and Training sector at JICA Senegal Office, in charge of the sector in Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal from 2009 to 2012. He was Deputy Director of a team of basic education in Africa at the Human Development Department of JICA, in charge of planning and management of Projects in Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Lesotho, Mali, Madagascar, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, Swaziland and Uganda from 2016 to 2018.
