Meg Ahern

Meg began working with the GPE Secretariat's policy and performance team in 2014.  She specializes in gender equality, and has contributed to the creation and implementation of GPE's Gender Equality Policy and Strategy 2016-2020.  She has also supported Assessment for Learning (A4L) and GPE's Results Report 2019, among other efforts. Meg is passionate about strategy and policy work toward the goal of equal opportunities for all.

Meg has a Ph.D. in gender studies and cultural studies from the University of Michigan, and completed her postdoctoral training in the sociology of knowledge at the University of Chicago. Her master's degree in comparative cultural studies focused on Kenya, and she has greatly enjoyed spending time in East Africa and learning Swahili. She has also consulted for UNICEF, USAID, and UNGEI.
