Grace Sinaga

Grace is a self-described ‘Third Culture Kid’ who is passionate about international development, particularly education and gender empowerment. A native speaker of Bahasa Indonesia, Grace started her tertiary studies at an Australian institution in Jakarta and ended up with a Master’s Degree in Communications from Johns Hopkins University in DC. She believes that equipping young girls with a quality education is the first step of gender empowerment.

Her professional career began at Voice of America and since then she has used her communication skills in various organizations ranging from a small PR firm to large international agencies including UNDP, the World Bank, IFC, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), and currently, the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA).

More recently with the GPE communications team, Grace played an integral role in the “Raise Your Hand” campaign that displayed the total length of arms raised online in support of funding education, which resulted in $4 billion in donor pledges. Numerous high-profile world leaders, civil society organizations, and public figures, such as Michelle Obama, Naomi Campbell, and Didier Drogba participated in the campaign.

Grace joined GPSA in February 2022, where she is spearheading the Communications/Knowledge Management team in integrated communications, examination of reputational opportunities and risks, as well as learning and partnerships management.
