Nelsy Lizarazo is the general coordinator of the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education, and as such the project leader of the research project Strategies to prevent sexual and gender-based violence and foster equity in rural schools in Nicaragua, Honduras and Haiti, supported by the Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX).

Prior to joining CLADE, she served as the General Secretary of the Latin American Association of Community Radios. She is a popular educator and communicator, as well as an activist for peace and non-violence. She holds studies in philosophy, political science and international relations.
