2018 program development grant for Nicaragua

May 2018 – The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$360,600 to prepare a new education program in Nicaragua

Description: The program development grant will support Nicaragua finance three activities: designing initiatives to improve the quality of learning of boys and girls in preschool; designing new proposals for interventions to expand focus on preschool infrastructure; and preparatory work for the inclusion of ESPIG as a project managed by the World Bank.

The grant will be implemented through the collaboration between the World Bank, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, as grant agent and the Government of Nicaragua.

UNICEF has been nominated by the local education group to serve as coordinating agency in Nicaragua.
