90,000 teachers will go through training in Kenya to improve teaching and learning in schools
More than 90,000 primary school teachers in Kenya have registered for a government-sponsored training to improve teaching and learning in primary schools. The majority of these teachers are early grade math instructors; head teachers from 4,000 schools that posted mean scores of 243 or below for the primary school exit examination will also take computer training to boost their management skills. This program is the first phase of a Sh8.8 billion project funded by the Global Partnership for Education aimed at raising management and accountability standards, in addition to building capacity for research-based education sector policy enactment.
