Bhutan is investing in technical training and vocational education

The Ministry of Education in Bhutan is earmarking for the first time funds for technical and vocational training. Allocating 15 percent of the undergraduate scholarship for technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is one of six key deliverable areas targeted in the ministry's Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for 2019-2020.

The ministry also plans to establish 115 new early childhood care and development centers across the country, funded by UNICEF and the Global Partnership for Education. It hopes to provide 40 hours for professional development training to teachers as well.
