In Brussels GPE Chair Julia Gillard advocates for global access to quality education

Julia Gillard traveled to Brussels to meet with Belgian and EU officials to advocate for GPE's next replenishment. She acknowledged that while it might not be easy at times to mobilize funding for development aid, it is still in everybody’s interest to ensure every child has access to education because the world will only become more connected. 

Addressing aspirations for quality education has implications for international security, especially as Europe continues to grapple with the refugee crisis. When every child gets the best possible start in life, nations will be able to build their economies and aid dependency will decrease.
