Call for expressions of interest for KIX: Research on scaling the impact of educational innovations

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) is excited to announce the launch of a call for expressions of interest to build knowledge and capacity on scaling the impact of educational innovations in GPE partner countries.

KIX is a joint endeavor with the International Development Research Center to connect expertise, innovation and knowledge to help developing countries build stronger education systems and accelerate progress toward SDG 4.

A key knowledge gap in improving education systems in developing contexts is how to effectively bring innovations to scale while maintaining the quality, equity, efficiency and sustainability of their impacts. To fill this gap, KIX is using a systematic and action-based approach to scaling.

KIX will fund a broad variety of projects at the global and regional levels that will build knowledge and capacity for scaling educational innovations for social impact. Further, KIX will also seek to systematically support and learn across these individual projects and to contribute to the broader discussion on scaling the impact of education innovations.

Individual organizations or consortia of multiple organizations are invited to submit an expression of interest to undertake the following work:

  1. design and lead action research across KIX-funded projects
  2. conduct additional research that engages multiple perspectives on the processes and critical success factors on scaling education innovations in GPE partner countries, and
  3. use findings from this research to produce practical and conceptual guidance on scaling that balances quality, equity, efficiency and sustainability for education systems and outcomes in developing country contexts.

For more information, view the call for expressions of interest on the IDRC website.

Expressions of interest can be submitted until December 13, 2019.

Informational webinars in English and French will take place on November 5. Please register and submit your questions to @email by October 31, 2019.
