The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is pleased to announce a call for expressions of interest to select regional learning partners for its Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) initiative.

Implemented by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), KIX is an exciting new way to connect the expertise, innovation and knowledge of GPE partners to help developing countries build stronger education systems, thereby accelerating progress towards achieving SDG 4.

With a budget of close to US$63 million, KIX is the largest funding mechanism solely dedicated and designed to meet the global public good gaps in education.

KIX consists of four regional hubs where country partners will come together to share information, innovation and best practices, and a funding mechanism that provides grants at the global and regional levels to invest in knowledge generation and innovation, and to scale proven approaches. The two components will be supported by an online platform.

Each regional hub will managed by a regional learning partner (RLP). These organizations will play a critical knowledge brokering function within KIX. They will convene decision makers and education stakeholders virtually and face-to-face to surface policy challenges and responses, produce knowledge syntheses, support knowledge sharing and learning, and lead knowledge mobilization and uptake. RLPs will also help develop funding calls for knowledge and innovation at the regional level.

Through this call we seek to hear from individual or groups of organizations to run one of four regional KIX hubs in:

  • Anglophone Africa
  • Francophone Africa
  • Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia

For more information go to the call for proposal on the IDRC website

An informational webinar will take place on July 8.
