Global call for proposals: Strengthening education systems with proven innovations

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is excited to announce the launch of a global call for proposals under its new Knowledge and Innovation Exchange.

Implemented by Canada’s International Development Research Centre, KIX is an exciting new way to connect the expertise, innovation and knowledge of GPE partners to help developing countries build stronger education systems, thereby accelerating progress towards achieving SDG 4.

With a total budget of US$12 million, grants funded through this call will seek to contribute to the improved performance of education systems of GPE member countries through adapting and adopting evidence-based education innovations with a demonstrated impact on enhancing education access and quality at scale.

Grants will support projects that aim to develop, test, and apply ways to scale innovations that address issues highlighted in six discussion papers in the thematic areas of data systems, learning assessment systems, teaching and learning, early childhood care and education, gender equality, and equity and inclusion.

All projects funded through this call will be multi-regional and involve at least three GPE developing country partners.

Individual projects will receive funding between US$1 million and US$2 million for a duration of up to 42 months, to be allocated to individual organizations or groups of organizations working together to implement the project.

Proposals can be submitted until October 1, 2019 (23:59 EDT) in English or French using the online IDRC application process.

For more information go to the call for proposals on the IDRC website.

Informational webinars in English and French will take place on August 14th and September 9th. More details on registering for these webinars will be shared closer to the date.

Any questions on the call can be emailed to KIXcalls@idrc.ca
