September 2009 - Haiti receives a grant of FTI's Catalytic Fund that will help as many as 135,000 children to have access to primary education for one more additional year of schooling. It will also help to improve school performance and attendance for 40,000 children by providing nutritious school meals. Through the support of the government's National Education Strategy, the grant will also help to provide kits with basic supplies and teaching materials to teachers to improve the performance of an estimated 450,000 school children enrolled in the country's public schools.
