Education can save lives

In his opinion piece on Project Syndicate, GPE youth advocate Mohamed Sidibay, a former child soldier from Sierra Leone and soon-to-be law student, explains how education saved his life. He is living proof of the transformative power of education, but he also believes luck played a crucial role throughout his educational journey.

Sidibay advocates so eagerly on behalf of education initiatives like GPE, the Education Cannot Wait fund and the International Finance Facility for Education because these organizations are working collectively toward the same goal: to raise funds to make quality education for every child, everywhere, more than a matter of luck. If young people are the leaders of tomorrow then the world must unite to fund quality education for everyone.
