Getting more girls in school in Nigeria

The state of Katsina’s Commissioner for Education, Dr. Badamasi Lawal Charanchi, recently recognized that GPE’s support to the Nigeria government through a $100 million grant, has really contributed to address issues related to education service delivery, especially at the basic level with a particular emphasis on girls' education.

Intended to run for a period of four years, the program is particularly welcome in a country where many girls of school age do not have adequate access to education, especially in the Northern part of the country where most of them are married early.
