Kenya distributes 12 million textbooks to early grade students

The government in Kenya distributed over 12 million early grade literacy and numeracy textbooks to public primary schools. The distribution of these textbooks in English and Kiswahili is in alignment with the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) that the government rolled out in grades 1-3 in the 2019 calendar year. This early grade literacy program is being implemented with support from the United States and GPE.
