The government in Kenya will conduct the first-ever joint sector review (JSR) of its education sector next year in conjunction with development partners. The decision to conduct the review came on the heels of the development partners coordination group meeting held at the Ministry of Education.

The Minister underscored the importance of the Joint Sector Review in tracking progress on program implementation to meet the SDGs. One of the programs in question is a US$88.4 million grant from GPE to boost early grade mathematics targeting over 6 million students and 40,000 teachers.
