Kenya: Students in grades 1-3 benefit from improved teaching of mathematics

Primary school teachers attending a training session for mathematics in Muranga County, Kenya, have acknowledged the tremendous progress they have seen in their classrooms. 

The 227 teachers of grades 1-3 are part of 100,000 teachers going through training in order to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics throughout the country. The project, in its fourth year, is funded by GPE to the tune of US$88.4 million; and more than 6 million students have already benefitted from the program.
