Malawi is investing in infrastructure to boost education standards

Through its Education Sector Improvement Program (MESIP), Malawi is taking significant steps toward improving the standards of education in the country. In communities where schools are held in open air, it has been a challenge to keep children in school and learning during the rainy season. Under MESIP, the government is investing in infrastructure in hopes to increase access to quality education. The program is being implemented with a US$44.9 million in financial support from the Global Partnership for Education.
