Speaking at a side event during the 2018 high-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN, CEO of GPE Alice Albright asserted that educating girls will reduce the cycle of poverty, child marriage and HIV.

A year of education can change a girl’s life completely. According to UNICEF, an extra year of secondary school can increase a woman’s income by 15% in the future.
