Uganda launches construction of 84 school sites

Minister of education Janet Museveni officiated the launch of construction for 84 school sites nationwide in Wakiso, Uganda, funded by the Global Partnership for Education under the Uganda Teacher and School Effectiveness Project (UTSEP). At the event, she cautioned contractors and parents in attendance that any report of inappropriate behavior by construction workers will jeopardize the project. These efforts in Uganda are meant to modernize public schools, which are often branded as lacking in adequate resources. Funds from the project are also being used to train teachers.
