Global Partnership for Education fast tracks emergency funds to educate displaced and refugee children in Cameroon
Cameroon will receive US$7.8 million in emergency funding to support the education of 36,500 children displaced by conflict and violence in neighboring countries.

Japan is providing a new assistance package of US$25 million to South Sudan in partnership with international organizations like the Global Partnership for Education, through which US$1.5 million will be dispensed to support the country's education sector plan.

Under a GPE grant, Kano State in Nigeria started the disbursement of N1.5 billion in scholarship to 34,698 schoolgirls in the state to improve access to quality education. The governor called on parents to use the scholarship to achieve the intended objective, making sure girls stay in school.
