Nidhi Khattri

Dr. Nidhi Khattri is a social scientist, whose work has focused on monitoring and evaluation in education, institutional development, and public sector reform and in evaluation capacity development. Currently she is Acting Chief Technical Officer in the Global Partnership for Education. Prior to joining the GPE, she was Lead Evaluation Officer in the Human Development and Corporate Evaluations unit of the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) at the World Bank, where she co-led the most recent Results and Performance of the World Bank Group, 2016, IEG’s annual flagship publication.  

Previous to this position she helped establish and served as program manager for the CLEAR (Regional Centers for Learning on Evaluation and Results) partnership program, housed at IEG. CLEAR works in partnership with foundations, donor agencies, and leading academic institutions around the world to build evaluation capacity. Before IEG, she worked at the World Bank Institute (WBI) and led evaluations of WBI’s programs and designed and delivered training in evaluation.  

Prior to joining the World Bank in 2001, she was Senior Researcher at the American Institutes for Research in Washington D.C., where she led research and evaluation for OECD countries, primarily in education.  From 1997 through 2000, Nidhi lived in China and worked with a number of development agencies, including the Australian Agency for International Development, UNICEF, and UNDP, evaluating their education investments. Nidhi has authored several publications, including Principles and Practices of Performance Assessments (Erlbaum, 1997).  She received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology in 1993 from Columbia University.
