Mahmoud Khalil

A Syrian-Palestinian-Algerian student, Mahmoud Khalil works for Jusoor, an international education-focused NGO. In addition to pursuing his undergraduate studies, Mahmoud has been volunteering and working with aid and development organizations in Lebanon for more than five years.

In 2013, Mahmoud was a key member of the team that founded an innovative education program for out-of-school Syrian refugee children in Lebanon. In this role, he co-crafted a strategy to expand the program that has reached so far more than 4,000 children and youth in Lebanon. He is also responsible for running the finances and operations of three educational centers as well as seven exchange, vocational and tech initiatives focused on education across Beirut and Bekaa Valley. 

In addition he leads the scholarship program for university-age refugee students in Lebanon. He has previously conducted several online academic mentorship sessions for Syrian and Palestinian students. Mahmoud is pursuing his degree in computer science at the Lebanese American University and continuously looks for innovative solutions using technology to support the education of out-of-school children.
