Christin McConnell

Christin McConnell joined the Education, Policy and Learning team of the GPE Secretariat in 2017, where she has been leading GPE’s thematic area related to early childhood care and education. Christin has been supporting education programs and policies in developing countries for 10 years. Prior to joining GPE, Christin most recently worked as a contractor for USAID, aiding global initiatives in early grade reading programming, monitoring, and evaluation. She has over six years of experience with the World Bank, closely supporting education operations and analytical work spanning from early childhood to secondary education in Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, Ghana, and Lebanon. As part of her work with the World Bank, Christin was based Malawi from 2010-2013, where she managed education initiatives and impact evaluations in the areas of early childhood development, primary teacher training, and secondary school scholarships and cash transfers. She has also worked on a range of education issues in her previous roles as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria, with a girls’ scholarship NGO in Malawi, and teaching in Norway. Christin holds a Masters degree in Development Economics and International Education Policy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a Bachelors degree from Harvard University.
